With Josh Jacobs still questionable, 10 observations and our predictions – The Athletic


The Raiders (3-0) are traveling to play the Chargers (2-1) at 5:15 p.m. PT on Monday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in what’s technically a road game, but it likely won’t feel like one. While they now call Las Vegas home, the Raiders will have a strong contingent present in the city that they brought a Super Bowl to back in 1983.

“You always looked at it as another home game,” quarterback Derek Carr said Thursday when asked about playing in Los Angeles. “That’s no disrespect; it’s just a fact … I fully expect Raider Nation to take over the majority of the stadium again.”

Here are 10 observations from the week and our predictions for the Raiders’ Week 4 matchup.

1. Injury report: Running backs Josh Jacobs (ankle) and Jalen Richard (foot) returned to practice Thursday. Jacobs hadn’t practiced since playing in Week 1 and Richard had been on injured reserve since the beginning of the season. With both players potentially back, the Raiders could have a deep backfield featuring Jacobs, Richard, Peyton Barber and Kenyan Drake. Jacobs is questionable to play but will likely suit up barring a last-minute setback.
